How to Know if You're a Shaman
How to Know if You’re a Shaman
A shaman is a healer with aconnection to nature. Someone who enters a trance and can connect with the Universe, Spirits, and other realms more than most people can.
Shaman’s believe that all things have a spirit and healing needs needs to happen on the spirit level or else it is not complete. They oftenuse herbs to aid the spirit and the body in healing itself.Sometimes, the remedies are ones that are brought back by the Shaman from Spirit Realms.
Photo by Gaurav Sood onPexels.comShamans were highly regarded within their communities. In ancient times, and in some cultures around the world today, to become a shaman you would go off on a spirit vision quest and if you came back after having had a vision, you would be able to learn from the current shaman in the village. This quest was nothing to take lightly. You went off into the woods by yourself, with no food or water. If you survived the natural world, you still had to survive the spiritual world.
A second way would be to survive a venomous snakebite. If you survived something that is known to kill, then you must have healing powers and connections with spirits. This is still true today, but it takes on a more general meaning. The general meaning is that if you have survived a near death experience, you might be a shaman.
Shaman’s Today
Today, the most common indicator of a shaman is if you having struggled through great hardship in your life. If you have ever found yourself on the streets, living out of your car, REALLY down on your luck and have come back from it prospering, you might be a shaman.
Another indication is having an illness which is baffling to modern medicine. Sometimes Shaman’s would be the outcast because of an incurable disease. One of the most common illnesses that was a possible indicator of shamanism was Schizophrenia and seizures.
You might be a shaman if you:
If any of these signs speak to you, you may be a shaman who has yet to accept their calling.

Intuition I can sence and feel things danger in life and people read them. Like I have known them for years almost care more about helping all nature and life. Not good with crouds or people. Prefer alone and quietness. Often. Feel I’m being called. By something I can’t explain. Why? Why does this religion type beliefs call to me. When. No others do or seem rite
Loading…ReplyBeing a shaman is not a religion. It is a spiritual duty to which one is called by the spirits. It is a life of servitude to your family and extended family.
Loading…ReplyI feel just the same way, Michael. I prefer being alone, I feel like I don’t fit in, I feel like I’m being called, and I feel a great, spiritual connection with nature and animals. Your comment was helpful for me. Blessings to you. PS–I’m reading a lovely book right now you might like called the Mist-filled Path by Frank MacEowan 🙂
